Each button we looked at had one similar basic function, which was to activate an intended mechanism. Some were mechanical, while others used electronic systems ranging from simple electronics, to touchscreens. Simple electronic buttons and mechanical buttons typically served one purpose, while touchscreen buttons could serve a multitude of functions. As a design consideration, simple buttons should serve simple purposes, while the more complicated functions are best suited for touchscreens.
